XB-16

Enamel XB-16 is a suspension of pigments in a solution of modified polyvinyl chloride resin.

PURPOSE

It is intended for application on primed metal surfaces, as well as on wood, fabric, concrete and reinforced concrete surfaces that are operated in atmospheric conditions in all climatic zones. It is used for corrosion protection of metal structures for various purposes, including bridges, flyovers, hangars, building facades, etc.

PROPERTIES

The enamel dries quickly, forms an even semi-matte coating with high water and weather resistance. The service life of the coating in a temperate climate is from 3 to 6 years, depending on the paintwork system, operation, and the protective capacity of the primer. The coating is resistant to ambient temperatures from + 50°C to –60°C.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Clean the primed surface from dust, dirt, oil and grease traces. Remove loose primer or previously painted surfaces. Existing traces of metal corrosion must be mechanically cleaned, degreased and primed. After surface preparation, it is recommended to carry out a trial application of the enamel to control the quality of surface cleaning, material compatibility and adhesion. Enamel is applied to surfaces primed with primers such as XB, XC, VL.

APPLICATION METHOD

Pneumatic spraying. The brush is recommended for small areas of the surface.

DILUTION

R-4 or R-4A.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

Enamel should be transported and stored in a tightly closed container, excluding direct sunlight and moisture. Packaged materials should be stored and transported at temperatures from -30°C to + 40°C.
