EP-140

EP-140 enamel is a suspension of pigments and fillers in a solution of epoxy resin in a mixture of organic solvents with the addition of a hardener.

PURPOSE

EP-140 enamel is used for painting surfaces made of steel, magnesium, aluminum, titanium alloys and copper.

PROPERTIES

Possesses high anticorrosive properties, weather resistance, resistance to water, mineral oils, gasoline, detergents. The silver-colored paint film has increased heat resistance. It is allowed to apply on the surface of products made of phenolic, acrylic, polystyrene, epoxy and some other plastics.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface of the metal should be brushed to a shine from rust and scale. The cleaned surface is dust-free and degreased, for which it is wiped with a cloth soaked in white spirit and a dry cloth. The prepared surface should be primed with primers VL-023, VL-02, EP-0263S, AK-070, EP-076, EP-0199.

APPLICATION METHOD

The components are mixed immediately before use, while for yellow, dark red, protective and black enamels, 30 parts of the hardener No. 2 (by weight) are taken for 70 parts of the semi-finished enamel product, for other colors - 75 parts of the semi-finished product of the enamel 25 parts of the hardener No. 2.

PREPARATION OF THE MATERIAL

Ensure that the paint base is well mixed and homogeneous before use. To prepare the composition, mix the hardener with the base in the ratio indicated in the quality certificate for each batch of material, and mix thoroughly for at least 10 minutes. The prepared paint is applied to the surface of the metal to be protected with a brush, roller or pneumatic spray at an ambient temperature of + 10°C to + 30°C. No paint thinning is generally required prior to application. After one layer has dried (4-6 hours at 20°C), subsequent layers are applied in the same way. Dilution of EP-140 to working viscosity is carried out with solvents orthoxylene, R-646, R-647, R-648, R-4, R-5.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

The enamel is stored in a tightly closed container, protected from sunlight.
